Fassino Icecream Bar Since 1880
A nice story of a true friendship
On a historic street cramped with trattorias and craftsmen, not far from the glamorous Via Veneto but still far enough away from the chaos of the city center, you can find Fassino. Owner and heir of a family who has made history as gelato makers in Rome and Sicily since 1880, Cristina has filled it with personal family objects, as it was her home’s living room. One of those objects, a piano, also shares the family’s long history. It was built in the 19th c. One day, by chance, a distinguished gentleman entered the shop for a coffee and asked permission to play on the family’s piano. It was Maestro Mario Pio Amico. From that day on, Mario Pio found an enthusiastic audience as the Fassino family made a sincere friend capable of bringing back to life emotions related to classical music, romantic songs and traditional Roman and Napoletan music. A visit to Fassino brings to mind the bygone era of the Italian life, while enjoying an elegant prosecco, wine, or, as is the Fassino tradition, an masterful homemade gelato. You will enjoy live music, perhaps be able to play with the Maestro himself, or, if you’d rather sing, be accompanied by an expert musician.
We are sure you will make memories that will last a lifetime and we will make a new friend after such an evening.
